A very productive Sunday morning initiated by Jacquie. Otley in Bloom members Edie, Mary, Jacquie, Ian and Maria trimmed, weeded and planted 15 Instaplanta planters between them. The picture shows David just across the road from Beks, sorting out the planter by the traffic lights.
Daffodil planting on Otley bypass, now Rotary Way. David, Maria, Jacquie and Ian planted bulbs with Rotary of Otley Chevin. A pleasant task planting daffodil bulbs around the new road signs situated at each end of the by-pass which is now named Rotary Way.
Today Otley in Bloom members Sue, Ian, Jacquie, David and Maria pruned, weeded and generally tidied up the flower bed beside the Chippendale statue on the road leading from Manor Square to St Joseph’s Primary School and the Otley Clinic. The bed was quite overgrown and full of weeds and the team removed two very large bags of prunings and litter. Jacquie later went back and put some new plants in at the far end.
One of our members spent a sunny afternoon adding some new plants to the Nectar Bed in Wharfefmeadows Park. The plants were ordered earlier in the year but had just arrived this week. The Nectar bed was given a good tidy-up and water as well and our member was pleased to receive several very positive comments from passers-by.
