Christmas tree festival

On Tuesday 10 December a group of Otley in Bloom members gathered at Otley Parish Church to decorate a Christmas Tree for the Church Christmas Tree Festival.
We placed a decorated watering can as a receptacle for collecting coins from the public.  The theme for this year’s event is The Tour de France and the decorations included yellow bicycle wheels made from curtain rings and some fabulous mini yellow jerseys made by Margaret.  Charlotte, Sue, Margaret and Carole decorated the tree and were watched by David and Maria taking pictures.

Daffodil planting on Newall Carr Bank

On the morning of Tuesday 3rd December Jacquie, Ian, Ernie, David Pearce and David Bellerby planted daffodil bulbs in Otley.

Assisted by members of The Rotary of Otley Chevin and a Clifton resident 3 bags of bulbs were planted on Newall Carr Bank – on the right hand side going up the hill. The idea is to join up with the daffodils previously planted by residents of Clifton. It was an enjoyable morning and the weather was perfect for planting.

Replanting the wooden planters in Otley

A very productive Sunday morning initiated by Jacquie. Otley in Bloom members Edie, Mary, Jacquie, Ian and Maria trimmed, weeded and planted 15 Instaplanta planters between them. The picture shows David just across the road from Beks, sorting out the planter by the traffic lights.
